If we want you to photograph our wedding because we love you so darn much, when should we book you?

ASAP. Since we cannot "hold" dates or "pencil you in" dates are booked when...well, when they're booked. Most of our peeps contract us within a year or two of the wedding date, and then sometimes if they’re lucky, brace yourself, as close as two months prior.

Can you hold our date?

I'm sorry, but we can't hold the date or pencil you in. To be fair to everyone we can't "hold" a date without a retainer and a signed contract. We accept bookings on a first come/first served basis.

What is your payment schedule like?

At the time of contract signing a booking fee/retainer of 50% of collection price is due to reserve your date. The remaining balance less the deposit is due the 2 weeks prior to your wedding.

What if i cancel my wedding…do i receive my retainer back?

We hope that doesn’t happen, however, you cannot receive any monies paid back. The retainer fee and all monies paid are non-refundable. The retainer guarantees that we will hold the date exclusively for you and once you've signed the contract we do turn down all other commissions for that date.

What if you, ummm, die or get sick before our wedding?

If Catherine and/or Scott die we can guarantee she/he WILL NOT be at your wedding - which would be rather sad :-( However, we will still supply you with coverage from our contracted assistant or second shooter. Catherine and Scott are also members of many national and local organizations and networking groups upon which we could call to find you a replacement photographer. While either one of our untimely demise would pain us terribly we would be able to work to find you a suitable replacement photographer.

Do we need to feed you at the reception?

Umm, yeah ya do. Feeding Catherine and Scott keeps us from getting what we call “HANGRY” and ensures we stay cheerful, mobile, and that we don't faint from starvation or waste away in a very tragic manner. We ask that you arrange with the venue ahead of the wedding for us to be fed when you are fed, not afterwards, because lets face it, who looks fabulous shoving a fork full of food in your mouth, right? And when you're done, we want to be done as well to continue your coverage and rock on the dance floor.

When do we schedule our engagement session?

We LOVE engagement sessions for so many reasons. The most important one is that we really get to know each other before the Big Day arrives-which is soooo much fun!We recommend you schedule your session at least 9 months in advance to allow time for Save the Date Cards and Guest Book design and printing. We can get those things done faster, however there is an extra fee involved. Contact us personally to get more details on your particular scenario. Please take note that most engagement sessions have to be done Tuesday-Thursday because of a heavy wedding schedule but there is occasionally Friday or Saturday availability.

How many pictures will we get?

The number of photographs taken depends on many things - the number of details, number of guests, number of days (if it’s a destination wedding), and types of events. Our bare minimum for weddings is 500 images, but often it's much higher.

Can we see the outtakes and all of the images that didn’t make the “final cut”?

The answer in short is no. The images delivered to you are edited to remove eyes-closed, flash-not-firing, person-walked-in-front-of-the-lens true outtakes. If there are a handful of images of you together with your mom laughing we're going to include everything that isn't an absolute duplicate and so forth. Please know that when "editing" we're not striving to hit some number of images to deliver and throwing out "good" pictures. The images not selected are not archived and therefore not available.

How long does it take to get our products and images?

Online galleries are posted within six weeks of the wedding date. The digital files are available within 6 months of the wedding date or upon delivery of your wedding album. Most albums are ready for delivery within twelve weeks after we receive final approval of album design.

Do we get the raw, unedited files?

No, these files are not available for viewing or purchase. This is very much like asking your caterer to give you the leftover ingredients used to make your dinner. The images selected for editing and final delivery reflect our very high standards and everything else is not archived in the studio.

Do we get to keep the negatives?

We provide the selected, edited high-resolution digital files (the digital equivalent of negatives). When the files are released to you, we will provide you with a list of resources from which to get quality prints if you so desire. We do retain the copyright to the images and the right to use them for promotional purposes, competition, professional review, and so on. If you need we are glad to provide you with a written release that will allow you to make unlimited personal reproductions and copies for your friends and families.

How does the album design process work?

You will have three months from your wedding day to complete choosing your favorite photographs for your album. Once you choose your images it takes about four weeks to produce your first draft and each round of changes generally takes two business weeks to complete. You will be able to preview your album design and make one rounds of changes to it before a change-fee is assessed. Once you approve the layout and you sign off on the book it will go to print. The process is easily and simply completed online. Should we hear no response or approval after one year of your complete design we will send the book off to print and you will receive the album as is.

Where is your studio located and do you travel?

We are located in Hawthorne, NJ and are available to travel worldwide for your event. We are destination wedding specialists and are very, very comfortable traveling for events. Rest assured that should you commission us to cover your wedding we are going to rock it. Period. Travel is billed very simply - if airfare, hotel and rental car are needed, you are simply responsible for a direct reimbursement for the charges we incur.
